This is the 'as planted' layout in late April.
My original Front Garden was ruined during our renovation a few years ago, so rather than spend years trying to rescue the soil (or replace it), I moved to raised garden beds. I have used 6 2x6 foot steel troughs for the food garden. I am slowly regenerating the slope to the sidewalk with perennial shrubs, flowers, and some annuals as needed.
The bed between the sidewalk and street was planted with Tulips and Lavender last year. There is also some Garlic interspersed. Once the Tulips have run their course, we will plant a mosaic of annuals for colour into the fall.
